What's on the Series 66.

Combines the state law material of the Series 63 with the adviser material of the Series 65: securities regulation, ethics and fiduciary duties, plus investment products and client strategies. Law and ethics make up 45% of the exam. Candidates who also hold the Series 7 can register as both an agent and an investment adviser representative without taking the 63 and 65 separately.

Who takes it. Series 7 representatives who want to offer fee-based advisory services alongside brokerage.
